We launch this following the incredible week that marked the Frozen River Film Festival in Winona. We at Ed’s would like to thank the staff and volunteers of this event for making our community more culturally relevant… and just plain better. As proud sponsors, we participated in the festivities at the bar as well with a fun beer tasting and film on Tuesday evening and three great concerts over the weekend. Thanks to all who came out for Beet Root Stew and Matt Ray on Friday, Head For the Hills and Whiskey Blanket on Saturday and our own Mike Munson on Sunday to wrap up the crazy week. Thanks, of course, to Jim Trouten who provided top notch sound and lights, Tom Fassbender for his booking prowess and to the staff at the pub who hustled their butts off all week long!
We have been upping our game in the beer selection recently. The line up has been fantastic. We just polished off a great keg of Surly Abrasive, only to replace it with Bell’s Hopslam (get it quick). The award winning Sprecher Winter Lager is a pleasant surprise of malty goodness, Ommegang Hennepin Saison is a light and lovely Belgian style, and New Belgium’s Dig Pale Ale (brewed with sorachi ace hops) has been one of the most drinkable beers we’ve had in a long time. Grain Belt Nordeast, Brooklyn Lager, Surly Abrasive and Bell’s Double Cream Stout round out the team.
We have great entertainment lined up for the next few months as well! Charlie Parr, Chris Koza, John Beach, Hackensaw Boys and We are the Willows will be down (just to name a few!). Take a look at our events calendar to find out more.
As always, we at Ed’s are humbled by the strong support our patrons and artists give to the pub. We couldn’t do it without you. Now tell your friends
Ed, Andrew, Paul, Brandon and Aliza!
